The Sevtolhal approached the Mortals. Upon seeing the Sevtolhal the Mortals fled in utter fear not knowing who the Sevtolhal were and expecting them to be warlike. The Sevtolhal knowing the instincts of the Mortals, being that they had created them, managed to convince some of the Mortals to stay and talk.

During these discussions the Sevtolhal offered to help the Mortals win their losing war with the Sreoth by helping them establish a permanent settlement something which the Mortals had tried to do before but had always ended up being destroyed by the Sreoth.

For the Mortals whose numbers had plummeted in the many recent lost battles with the Sreoth and who were facing certain extinction, the offer was too good to refuse and so they accepted without question or conditions.

And so the Sevtolhal joined with a group of Mortals to build a permanent city that they called “Avirenth”.
